- A Gas Fireplace produces more heat than an electric fireplace can.
- Electric fireplaces produce a fake flame, where a gas fireplace produces a real flame.
- Electric fireplaces can be used without the heat on for ambience during the summer months, whereas a gas fireplace would make the room very warm and defeat the purpose of having the air conditioner on.
- You may only be able to operate you gas fireplace for a min amount of time in smaller rooms as the room would get too hot, but since an electric can have the heat turn off you can enjoy it for hours & hours.
- Electric fireplaces are typically less expensive to install and operate than gas.
